OUR HISTORY

Medtrition, Inc. formerly known as American Institutional Products Company of PA, Inc. was founded in 1986 as the first marketer in the healthcare food service industry of instant food thickeners. The food thickener and its program, “Creating Eye Appealing Pureed Foods,” revolutionized the dysphagia market converting mystery bowls of pureed foods into dense and cohesive purees that were both easier to swallow and appetizing to consume.

Since then we have continued our leadership in the medical foods industry with innovative and best in class products that focus on three dimensional, formed pureed foods, pressure ulcers and wound healing products, protein and calorie malnutrition options, constipation and diarrhea control, urinary tract infection control and the renal diet.

Today, our products are used by dietitians, nutritionists, clinicians, directors of nursing, infection control and wound care nurses and the food service departments of hospitals, nursing homes, oncology centers, dialysis centers and home infusion companies across the entire US and in over 50 countries around the world.
